This morning as I did my normal routine of laying in bed for a solid hour too tired to get ready, scrolling tik toks muted (because my husband was still asleep lol) I saw someone post about starting the 75 soft and that if you started today, October 17, you would finish the challenge on the New Year. And for some reason I decided let’s commit to that. Let’s actually do it and really focus on finishing the year strong. For those that don’t know what this is, 75 soft is a modified version of the 75 hard, where you spend 75 days on a fitness and wellness routine. 75 hard is a little intense asking for 2 45 minute work out sessions every day which is basically setting me up for failure with my busy schedule. 75 soft only asks for one work out per day which I feel much more comfortable doing.

So I’ll be doing the following every single day:

- Eat relatively clean

- Drink 2 liters of water (Challenge originally is 3 liters but I think 2 more obtainable)

- No drinking unless it’s a social situation (I will not be drinking unless it’s a party I’ve already committed to this year & holiday events)

- 45 minutes of exercise

- 1 active recovery day per week

- Read 10 pages of a book

- Take a photo of yourself to track progress

I find this challenge to be pretty obtainable and not super restrictive which is usually my problem as I honestly get easily discourage when I don't keep up with something. While I do hope to see some physical changes in my body I really want to build consistent habits. I often make excuses on why I can’t achieve my goals and I know that primarily it’s mental hurdles that hold me back. I am starting to incorporate some more workouts in my week but I would like to push myself.

Today I had some ham and toast for breakfast, packed leftover pasta and fruit for lunch and for dinner I’ll have some protein and veggies. For exercise I’m going to hop on the peloton tonight for 30 minutes and do 15 minutes of body conditioning/weights. I'm a very fast reader so

10 pages is literally nothing; I'm just going to make sure I read every single day as I already know that I'll read closer to 50 pages per sitting. I’m so excited to take on this challenge and take on these good habits into the new year!
